JASON CARTER HOUSE CONCERT

We had a super time at Jason’s Concert. Thank you Phil (Knox) for being relentless in inviting us. Sometimes/oftentimes I need that…

Video is created using Adobe Premiere Pro (PP) which I am trialing as the Final Cut Pro update looks… ‘unfinished’ from a professional point of view and my Final Cut journey has been plagued with rendering problems and has been a huge uphill struggle. I’m getting into PP. It seems more intuitive and I have had zero render times (!), even with all the effects I used. Creating in real time and seeing how the effects work, with no chugging away waiting – JOY! I didn’t use After Effects separately or any audio treatments here but all in all very excited to see what’s possible.

Christiane my beautiful wife was lovely as I showed her the edit last night. She has a great eye and suggests improvements but last night it was her ear that was acute…  “I did some footage too remember!” She said after hearing my introduction claiming all the filming for myself! Indeed she did and is now on the credits. Didn’t redo the starting narration because I thought it worked nicely. “You sound like a radio presenter.” Christiane’s comment… Lovely, and I was making it up as I went along. No doubt you can tell?

Jason, I hope you like this?  Fun to take the base footage and give it some tweaks – your shirt looked great treated and uptreated. Super to meet you and hear you play. You make it look so easy. The sign of a master. I look forward to making music together at some time in the future. That will be great and thank you for the offer of collaboration, I am honoured.

You may hear a touch of my son speaking in one section, if you listen carefully. He did brilliantly in staying quiet for the most part, a 3 1/2 year old up very late.

Enjoy the music, do visit Jason’s website and purchase his new album FALLING: from anthems with The Korean Army Choir to relaxing tracks and finishing with a lovely version of Abide With Me.

Love
